A quick note to say posting may be a little sporadic over the next few weeks. Thank you for being patient with me. If you missed it, we are moving to Chicago and are currently living out of suitcases in an Airbnb as we had to move out of our rental home at the end of May. I put together a summer capsule wardrobe to get me through this transitional period, and all the outfits below were created using pieces from there.
MONDAY

Hello from my new outfit spot! The Airbnb we are staying in has no full length mirror (the horror!) so I don’t really know what I look like from the waist down until I use my tripod or have Danny take my daily outfit photo. I think this one turned out alright! I know some of you may gasp at the sight of a suede jacket in June, but Seattle can still be a bit chilly this time of year on some days. I love the pairing of this warm brown color with red, too.
TUESDAY

Here’s my new boxer shorts making their real life debut! I was so against this trend, and now I’m all in. A trend that’s actually practical, yes please! I’m planning a blog post on how to style boxer shorts so stay tuned for that. For this first time, I paired them with a cardigan sweater and strappy black sandals. See Sunday’s look for another way to style them.
WEDNESDAY

I can’t remember what I did this day, but I remember liking my outfit. This whole look is monochromatic but I added contrast with the black sandals. I find picking shoes is so much easier in the summer since sandals pretty much go with everything.
THURSDAY

I’ve had this waistcoat in my closet for months but the weather just wasn’t warm enough for it. I can’t wait to wear it more come summertime. I paired it with some barrel jeans and mesh flats.
FRIDAY

I’m a skirt person now! I think I had a bit of a mental block when it came to skirts, but this one feels very casual and easy to style. See this post for more ideas, but I’ll probably just be wearing it with tees and tanks this summer. This time, I paired it with this perfect little brown sweater tank from Faherty and one of two sling bags I packed. This was one of my favorite looks of the week!
SATURDAY

After enjoying some coffee and croissants and a four mile run, we got ready for a day of bopping around town with the kids. I wanted something super comfortable, and this was perfect. It’s a bit casual, but that’s what weekends are for, right? I’ve got on my Sézane red tee (this is turning out to be a great summer purchase), my boxer shorts, brown flip flops, and a baseball cap because I didn’t have time to wash my hair (#relatable.)
SUNDAY

Sunday, after soccer, we headed down to Lincoln Park in West Seattle to enjoy the afternoon by the water. It was lovely. I wore a basic black tank and my Na Nin silk canvas pants. We are trying to squeeze in all our favorite Seattle activities before we move to Chicago. I’m going to miss these views.

Can I tell you how much time it took for me to decide what to pack in my suitcase considering it was going to be my only source of clothing for the next month? I’ve never had so much decision fatigue! So far though, I’m very into this summer capsule. It’s minimal with a smidge of color, lots of texture, and some coastal vibes. It was super easy to put together outfits with, too. Okay, that’s it for this week. Talk soon, Ashley
I'm also obsessed with boxers this Summer. I plan on wearing them on repeat as much as possible. Love how they can be casual, yet also.... dressy?? It's wild. Loved your looks from this week!
I had a mental block with boxer shorts too! I broke through last year and have upped my commitment this year. Obsessed with a comfy trend!
